In the coming days, the Biden administration is expected to announce its plan to overhaul the Title IX rule. 

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) protects students from discrimination based on sex in any education program or activity that receives money from the federal government. Biden's Department of Education is expected to amend Title IX and expand the definition of 'sex' to include 'sexual orientation' and 'gender identity.'

If implemented, schools would not be allowed to separate athletic teams, restrooms, locker rooms, or other facilities based on biological sex.
