Reluctant Fighters
This is one of my favorite stories. I can relate so much to Ferdinand. He found contentment in the simple life. It is likely many of you can as well. You just want to raise your children, enjoy your life, and sit quietly smelling the flowers. But, like Ferdinand, we sat on a bee and it stung us. Actually, it stung our children. Ferdinand stood out to the men for his strong powerful reaction to being stung. We are drawing attention too. He wasn’t looking for a fight, and he would not engage in the “fight” they created for him, but he had no choice except to react to being hurt. The same can be said for thousands of parents across the country. I was not looking for a fight. I will not engage in superficial “fights” meant only to distract or entertain the masses. I will fight to restore the education system and ensure that our students receive #EducationNOTIndoctrination. Then, I will be quite content to sit quietly and smell the flowers.

I no longer teach in the classroom with my elementary and special education degrees, but I still consider myself an educator. I have used my passion for teaching raising my four children who are now young adults, as well as with the children I have volunteered my time with. I am currently using my skills to educate parents in Kentucky about the indoctrination happening in our public schools. I am thankful to have the support of my husband/high school sweetheart on this journey.
